Top 5 Books That Made Me Laugh

Everyone needs a good laugh now and then. I read a lot of books about women my age being brutally killed and assaulted, and/or getting cheated on by their perfect husbands. Let me tell you how great that is for my mental health. So, from time to time it’s good to punctuate your reading with something to bring a smile to your face, and that’s exactly what Bionic Bookworm has asked us to do today.

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. If you’ve known someone with Asperger’s Syndrome, you know that social interaction can be difficult for them. The same is true for our narrator of this book, Don Tillman, who nonetheless is resolved to find a wife. Rosie is the antithesis of what he’s looking for, but she’s on a mission of her own that only he can help her with. Don is so lovable and his path to find love had me laughing out loud the whole way through.

The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher. You definitely want to get the audio version for this one. Carrie is hilarious and this book is a rom-com without even meaning to be.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare. Technically a play, but I remember that this made me laugh out loud in high school even as I struggled with it.
